Using this site
Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use LewesGo, on any device and with any assistive technology.
What we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. You should be able to make text bigger without it being cut off, use the whole site with a keyboard, and use it with a screen reader or voice control.
How we test
Before any change goes live, every page is checked automatically with the axe accessibility checker at phone and computer widths, including colour contrast, and the HTML is checked for errors. A change that fails a check is not published. Automated checks do not find every problem, so we also try pages with a keyboard and a screen reader from time to time.
Parts we know are harder to use
- The map is hard to use with a screen reader or keyboard alone. Everything on it is also listed in the directory and on What's on.
- Event pictures come from organisers and may not have a full description. The event's own text always gives its name, date, time and place.
- Links to other websites, such as ticket sellers, open pages we don't control, which may be less accessible.
Tell us about a problem
If something on LewesGo is hard to use, or you need information in another format, please email hello@lewesgo.co.uk or use our contact form. Tell us the page and what went wrong. We aim to reply within 10 working days.
This statement was prepared on 29 October 2026 and will be reviewed when the site changes.
